Hi! I'm Mary. Welcome to My Secret Garden!

I began my Art Career as a Sculptor/Designer where I created walk-through animated storybook villages and realistic figurative museum pieces. My favorites were costume design and sculpting although I designed everything from human bodies to entire sets.
In 1992, I entered the collectible world through Dolls with my series of Medieval Woman dolls who were inspired by the book,"Mists Of Avalon,"
I soon discovered the world of Teddy Bears where I have been content ever since. My first bears were posable realistic bear cubs featuring individual leather toes, taxidermy eyes, sculpted noses, and claws with locline armatures.
In 2000, I left my other design work to work full time in bear making. Freed of other responsibilities,I became more playful and my designs became more whimsical. I introduced my first jointed animals including sleepy mice which have become a perennial favorite. I also began to apply my love of costuming to create storybook characters. But it was photography which led me to my greatest joy of all-writing stories about my creations.
In 2006, my first story was published by Teddy Bear Review entirely illustrated with photos of my animal characters in my garden. The story, "Bunchinella Hears A Bell," concerns a mother rabbit who comes to believe in fairies-specifically a certain Mouse fairy named Bellissima.
Animal fairies have been fluttering into my work ever since. Now they are pestering me to write another story, featuring fairies,of course, which I intend to do. To this end, I'm gaining more experience with my photography and Photoshop skills as well as writing stories and continuing to create more fanciful characters.
I sell almost exclusively through my mailing list and through Ebay. To become part of my Mailing List (Collector's Club), write to me at and I’ll add you to the list. You will be notified of all my newest pieces.
Blessing to you all, and Happy Gardening!
